Meanwhile, Paris is all around these happenings – in historic locations such as the Pont Louis, Théâtre du Châtelet, Pont Neuf, Monnaie de Paris, Musée du Louvreand most importantly on and around the river Seine.
The aim behind hosting the games around the river is to make the Parisians connect to the river – the pride and joy of the city. When the riverbanks were opened to pedestrians in 2016, it gave Parisians and locals back their beautiful rivers. They were then able to enjoy walking along or engaging in sports along the banks without worrying about traffic.
Along the quays and bridges of the Seine, against this grand and historical backdrop, the athletes will be carried by a majestic flotilla of more than 160 boats. The Games will follow a 6 km parade route along the Seine, running from Pont d’Austerlitz to Pont d’Iéna.
